Responsibility

We created Ro&Zo to offer beautifully designed, premium and well-made clothes made from sustainable fabrics. Our Ro&Zo woman wants to feel feminine, glamorous and confident in all she wears and wants to wear clothes that transcend trends and seasons. Whilst we aren’t perfect, and we can not claim to be a fully sustainable brand, we are on a mission to be a ‘Responsible’ brand and we want to bring our customer on that journey with us.

Everything is designed in-house at our London studio, with sustainability and circularity in mind. We use an approach that is mindful of our environmental footprint, and our design process emphasises resource efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Our products are the result of sustainable sourcing, efficient processes, and careful consideration of the life cycle of our products. Through our mission, we work to make products that are both stylish and sustainably conscious.

Product

We don’t like to claim we are a sustainable brand, but instead a ‘Responsible’ brand. We prioritise using fabrics that are grown, sourced and manufactured responsibly. Our ambition is to grow each year the percentage of the range which is made from sustainable materials to be over 90% by 2026.

We are working hard to get there through the exploration of new materials and embracing textile innovation with key suppliers.

OUR FABRICS
Producing textiles requires the farming and production of raw materials, harvesting of resources, water and energy usage, and potentially hazardous chemicals and dyes. By making more responsible textile choices, considering not only the quality, feel, and functionality, but also the ethics and sustainability of a fabric, we can lessen the environmental and social impact of our designs and protect the future of our planet.

Learn more about the fabrics we currently use below.

A lightweight and drapey fabric, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose is produced using raw material wood pulp – a renewable resource that will eventually biodegrade naturally - derived from responsibly managed forests. Over 80% of our viscose styles are made from viscose which is responsibly and sourced from well managed forests, minimising water usage and ensuring traceability back to its origin.

Where we can we always choose Organic or BCI cotton over regular cotton. Organic certification ensures that the cotton fibre has been grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilisers to preserve biodiversity, biological cycles and soil well-being.  BCI cotton is sourced from Better Cotton Institute (BCI) licensed farmers, who have received training on water efficiency, caring for soil health and natural habitats, reducing the use of harmful chemicals and applying decent work principles and are implementing this system.

When we use synthetic fabrics, we seek out recycled fibres. Recycled polyester provides a less impactful alternative to conventional polyester as it does not use virgin resources but makes use of consumer waste that would otherwise have gone to landfill. Our Recycled Polyester fabric is made from post-consumer plastic bottles certified by the Global Recycle Standard.

Packaging

Our product tags are made from 100% Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper from responsibly - managed forests.

Our boxes and envelopes are all 100% FSC which means the cardboard and paper have been sourced from forests that have been audited by an independent third party to confirm they are managed according to FSC’s rigorous social and environmental standards. All our packaging items can also be 100% recycled.

The garment bags we use to dispatch our product are all made from 80% recycled material and are fully recyclable.

Whether you purchase a Full Price item or something from our Sale, your products will be neatly packaged in our Recycled White Tissue Paper and placed in either our Ro&Zo boxes or paper bags depending on the size of your order.
